Marvin Eriksen's first words in How I Met Your Mother

In the last episode of How I Met Your Mother (season 9 episode 13) the little Marvin Eriksen speaks for the first time in the TV-show. The little boy, hearing his father and the future Ted's wife talking, repeats an expression that the two are using:

"Shunk junk"

While junk is a synonim of garbage, I had no clue about shunk, so I had to look for it and according to the urban-dictionary

the term 'Shunk' has become synonymous with what one of a hygiene conscious persuasion would earnestly regard as a smelly, scruffy bastard. Its use originated from a family of smelly, scruffy bastards (with surname of 'Shunk') who used to live in the Sanfields area of Port Talbot.

In the episode, Marshall, in an attempt to apologize, says that the actual first word of Marvin was "Mommy" :)

  1. it was meant to be "skunk junk" because Marshall had said it a couple minutes before hand
